SakeBomb is where Bay Area Miata owners go when stock isn't the plan. Its Miata division, MiataSpeed, is staffed by people who track, race and daily-drive their own Miatas, and the shop works on everything from NA to ND. On Miata.net and Reddit, it comes up again and again as the South Bay's go-to Miata shop.

Setup is the specialty

They run a Hunter laser alignment rack and tune NC and ND Miatas with EcuTek on their own dyno. They also offer corner balancing, which spreads the car's weight evenly across all four tires, and they'll do it with you in the driver's seat. In a car this light, the driver is a real share of the total weight. Some of us more than others.

When we checked, the shop's website listed a standard alignment at $165 and a ballasted alignment, set up with weight in the seat to match how you actually drive, at $235. ND owners eyeing an Edelbrock supercharger will find a certified installer here too.

What owners have had done

Owners describe ND2s transformed by Öhlins coilovers and sway bars after the team helped choose spring rates, roll bars installed so cleanly they look factory, and cars prepped for their first track season. Others bring bigger jobs. "I've had everything from an alignment, radiators, brake service, differential swap and even a full engine swap done here!" wrote Sonny R.

Know before you go

This is a busy shop. A few owners who had major engine work done felt communication fell short, so before you hand over the keys for a big job, agree on the scope, the timeline and how you'll get updates.
