Hi, I'm Nigel.
I also created FlowForce, where for more than 10 years I've been building fuel injector kits, ignition coil kits and other parts for the Miata community.
I've owned all four generations of Miata:
- a budget track-build NA
- a fire-breathing NB with a built, turbocharged 2.4-liter Ecotec and a cage, putting down 400 hp and 500 lb-ft (yes, in a Miata)
- a nearly stock NC
- a supercharged ND2
I do my own work, except when I need an expert to bail me out. When that happens, I'm very picky about who touches my cars.
MiataShops.com started as research to find recommended installers for FlowForce customers. Like a lot of my car builds, it escalated.
What you'll find here
MiataShops is a free directory of shops that understand these cars. That includes specialists, general shops with real Miata experience, tuners, alignment and race-prep shops, top installers, detailers and parts suppliers. Every profile is built from evidence: customer reviews, forum threads, club recommendations, the shop's own work, and my own experiences with shops. We write each one the way one owner would tell another about a shop worth trusting. AI helps me research and draft profiles, and I set the standards and edit the site. See how we vet shops →
Independent, on purpose
Shops don't pay to be listed, and being a FlowForce installer doesn't earn a shop a spot or a better write-up. MiataShops isn't affiliated with Mazda.
Help us get it right
Know a shop that belongs here, or spot something we got wrong? Nominate a shop or let us know.
Own a shop? Use the nomination form to tell us what else we should say about you. That could be the Miata work you're proudest of, your specialties, your equipment, or anything owners should know before they call. We'll work it into your profile.
Good cars deserve the right people. I hope this helps you find yours.
