The San Diego Miata Club's go-to wrench

Ask around North County San Diego for a Miata mechanic and Allen's Wrench comes up fast. The San Diego Miata Club lists the shop in its member directory, and Miata owners keep finding their way here on the club's say-so. Henry heard about it in online Miata groups as the go-to place for all things Miata, and Brittany had filed away a club recommendation for years before she needed it.

Where this comes from

Done right, done quick, left clean

Henry brought his Miata in for a timing belt, a job most owners dread, and had it back the same day. Then he did the classic check-under-the-hood-at-home inspection and found nothing out of place. "No loose covers or attachments, no grease or spill marks, everything exactly as it looked when I brought it in," wrote Henry C.

Brittany's Miata wouldn't start and had a lingering check-engine light, so she had it towed in. Less than 24 hours later it was fixed, for less than she expected, with updates along the way. She even got to return her rental early. Her husband, by her account a man who trusts no mechanics, trusted Steve and Dennis right away.

Where this comes from

Know before you go

San Diego Miata Club members get 10% off labor on Miatas, according to the club's directory. The same listing notes the shop doesn't install parts you bought online, so it's worth asking before you order parts.
