The top shop that comes to you

Thierry has been putting new soft tops on Bay Area Miatas for well over a decade, and he'll usually come to you. Miata owners describe installs in driveways, office parking lots and workplaces from San Francisco to Sunnyvale, typically wrapped up in two to four hours. David found him the way a lot of people do: Bay Area Miata Facebook groups kept pointing to Miata Topworks as the place to go. "I had ZERO downtime or inconvenience," wrote Davide T., whose 2011 NC got its new top at his office.

Every generation, every kind of leak

Steve's '92 was done in about two hours. Alex's '95 had a failed plastic window and zipper, and Thierry patiently talked through the options before installing a new top. When other upholstery shops turned down E. O.'s 2006 NC because they'd never done one, Thierry showed up and installed the Robbins top E. O. had already bought. Oscar's NC came out "good as new" in around four hours in 2024.

Jeannie waited for a proper rain test before reviewing the new top on her 2003. "I can even park it nose-down in our slanted driveway without worry that I will find a swamp in the footwell the next morning!" wrote Jeannie H.

Carlota had installed a top herself once, on an earlier '95. It took 14 hours, and when her '91 needed one, she remembered her promise: "I would rather eat ramen for a month than do that again," wrote Carlota S. Thierry did it instead, rain rail included.

Know before you go

The shop's website is down at the moment, so call ahead to confirm availability before you plan around it. You can have Thierry come to you or bring the car to him, and he'll order the top for you or install one you've bought. One Miata owner noted he works in cash, so ask how he'd like to be paid when you book.
