DFW's Miata club knows this place

Zoom Performance has deep roots in the Dallas Miata scene. Owner Mo and his partner Raza have spoken at a Lone Star Miata Club meeting and hosted the club's car show, swap meet and tech day at the shop. Miata owners who've been there say the same things over and over: honest, transparent, and usually at or under budget.

Stock, swapped, boosted or barely a Miata

The range here is wide. One Miata owner with an LS swap had been turned away by several domestic shops before Zoom took the car on. Another dropped off a newly bought turbo 2018 to be sorted, and got it tuned, cooling handled and the fenders massaged for wider tires. A 2022 owner had the top and windshield replaced and was walked out to the car mid-job to see exactly what was being done.

The shop's own projects tell the same story. A 1999 10th Anniversary came in expecting a full clutch job; the real problem was a failing clutch master cylinder, so the owner put the savings toward a timing belt, water pump and radiator instead. A 2008 Special Edition got a Robbins top in the correct dark brown, a color that isn't in Robbins' regular catalog. A 38,000-mile 1991 British Racing Green car got a full maintenance and interior restoration.

Know before you go

The shop moved from Dallas, near Love Field, to Grand Prairie, so older listings may show the old address. Zoom will install parts you bring, but for engine mods they prefer to supply the parts themselves. For tops, they use Robbins exclusively. Good shops stay busy, so call ahead.
